During his college years, he worked for KXCV-FM, a 100,000 watt Public Radio station from 1980-1983 serving as an announcer, news reporter, and producer of several featured programs. Following graduation from college in 1983, he worked several months as a part-time announcer for KFOR-AM in Lincoln, Nebraska before accepting a position back at KTNC-AM in Falls City. Dave spent four years in Falls City before accepting a job at KWBE in Beatrice, Nebraska in 1987. Over the past years Dave has received numerous awards from the Nebraska Associated Press Broadcasters Association for stories and features on agriculture in Nebraska. In 1991 he was the recipient of the Communication Award from the Lower Big Blue Natural Resources District for promotion of conservation of soil and water in the NRD District and the KWBE listening area. In 1996, Dave was awarded the Booster Award from the Blue Valley Pork Producers Association for the promotion of the pork industry and coverage of livestock production in the KWBE listening area. Dave and his wife Nancy have two children, Austin and Emily.
He grew up in Iowa, graduated from Centerville, Iowa High School and Iowa State University, with a degree in Journalism, Minor in Political Science and a near minor in Economics. He was a member of, and earned letter on the ISU Golf team from 1978 to 1980. Doug has been with KWBE since June 1980. As a student, he worked for W-O-I Television in Ames. During High School and College, Doug worked summers for KCOG-AM and KMGO-FM, in Centervillle Iowa, as an announcer, newswriter, play-by-play backup. Doug is a former member of Beatrice Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. His hobbies include golf, fishing, bicycling, running, walking, and reading.
After finishing college and a term in the United States Army, Bryan went to work for Knox Oil of Texas, based in Dallas and Houston. Bryan began broadcasting at KGGF in Coffeyville, Kansas, where he was recognized with two awards from the Kansas Association of Broadcasters. Bryan moved to Beatrice in 1999, when he began his career at KWBE. Heading into his 8th year as Sports Director, Bryan has earned 12 awards from the Nebraska Associated Press. In 2007, he won first place for a Sports Feature on "Hoosier History - The True Story". Bryan's hobbies are freelance writing, softball, golf, tennis, rodeo and bowling. He is currently in the process of trying to publish his first novel, with two more books to follow. |
